M Y defign in publifhing this Book, was, that the Celestial Phyfics, which the moft fagacious Kepler had got the scent of, but the Prince of Geometers Sir Ifaac Newton, brought to such a pitch as surprises all the World, might, by my care and pains in illuftrating, become eafier to fuch as are defirous of being acquainted with Philofophy and Aftronomy. The Title informs you fufficiently that the Arithmetical or Calculatory part of Aftronomy is here omitted, tho' that, perhaps, may be published hereafter in its proper place. As for the Phyfics, it is all taken out of the abovemention'd Authors; but is here intermix'd with Aftronomy, in fuch places as feem'd proper and convenient the Geometry to be met with in it, I have either borrow'd elsewhere, and quoted the place where 'tis to be found, |
