This A review of some of GSA's divisions reflects desired commitments of funds from the Federal Buildings Fund Budget: Construction and Acquisition of Facilities: $271 million, including increasing Government ownership over leasing space for Federal agencies by direct construction. Repairs and Alterations: $572.7 million is planned, including funds to maintain basic repairs in GSA real estate, improving health and safety problems and constructing more courtrooms. Design and Construction Services: $176.4 million is planned, including funds for design and management/inspection for nine new construction projects and management and inspection of the FY 1991 line item repair and alteration program. Installation Acquisition Payments: $136.6 million is planned. This is an increase of $9.8 million over last year. Funds are used for payment of principal, interest and taxes on 68 projects authorized by statute in 1972. Starting this fiscal year, payments in this category will also include payments of similar items for individual installment (lease) purchase projects authorized by Congress. Rental of Space: $1,534.3 million is planned to provide for an increase in leased property and anticipated increases in commercial rental rates. |
