Amendments 63 and 64: Amendments 63 and 64 are the same as sections 9 and 10 of H. R. 9414, which has heretofore passed the House, increasing the amount any one person may deposit in a postal savings bank from $1,000 with interest and $1,000 without interest, as provided under present law, to $2,500 with interest. The provision as passed the House was for $3,000 with interest.

Amendment 64 permits the purchase of postal savings stamps in denominations of 10 cents to be affixed to a card, and when it amounts to $1 may be deposited as a postal savings account or redeemed in cash. made necessary

Amendment 65: Amendment 65 is a clerical one, by the addition of certain sections to the bill.

Amendment 23: Amendment 23 relates to the purchase of the pneumatic-tube mail service. The conferees have been unable to agree respecting the provisions of this amendment.

The Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (S. 4445) granting the consent of Congress to Marion and Horry Counties, S. C., to construct a bridge across Little Peedee River, having considered the same, report thereon with a recommendation that it pass.

The following is the report of the Senate Committee on Commerce on this bill:

The Committee on Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (S. 4445) granting the consent of Congress to Marion and Horry Counties, S. C., to construct a bridge across Little Peedee River, having considered the same, report thereon with a recommendation that it pass without amendment.

The bill has the approval of the Department of War, as will appear by the following letter, which is made a part of this report:

The Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (S. 4127) to authorize the W. M. Ritter Lumber Co., a corporation, to construct bridges across the branches and tributaries of the Big Sandy River and their tributaries, in the counties of Buchanan and Dickenson, in the State of Virginia, having considered the same, report thereon with amendment and as so amended recommend that it pass.

Amend the bill as follows:

Page 1, line 8, strike out the comma after the word "bridges" and the words "with single or double tracks."

Page 1, line 11, after the word "points" insert the words "suitable to the interests of navigation."

Page 1, lines 11, 12, and 13, strike out the words "as it may now or hereafter be desired for the passage of railroad, tramroad, or logging-road engines, cars, and trains.

Page 1, line 11, strike out the word "such."

The Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (H. R. 11949) granting the consent of Congress to the county of Pearl River, Miss., and the fourth ward of the parish of Washington, La., to construct a bridge across Pearl River, between Pearl River County, Miss., and Washington Parish, La., having considered the same, report thereon with amendment, and as so amended recommend that it pass.

The bill as amended has the approval of the War Department, as will appear by the letter attached and which is made a part of this report.

Amend the bill as follows:

Strike out sections 1 and 2, and insert in lieu thereof the following:

That the times for commencing and completing the construction of a bridge, authorized by act of Congress approved February twenty-sevench, nineteen hundred and seventeen, to be built across the Pearl River, at or near the fourth ward of the Parish of Washington, State of Louisiana, are hereby extended one and three years, respectively, from date of approval hereof.

Renumber section 3 to be section 2.

Amend the title so as to read: "To extend the time for the construction of a bridge across Pearl River, between Pearl River County, Mississippi, and Washington Parish, Louisiana.

The accompanying bill, H. R. 11949, present session, to authorize the construction of a bridge across Pearl River, between Pearl River County, Miss., and Washington Parish, La., is practically identical with an act approved February 27, 1917, subject to the terms of the general bridge act. The time for commencing the construction of the bridge as implied by section 6 of the general act expired February 27, 1918, and
