PREFACE.

The following work, it is believed, comprises all the laws of Maryland of force in the District of Columbia, and the acts of Congress of public and general interest in relation to the District, together with synoptical references to acts, judicial decisions, &c., equally applicable to the District and the whole country. So much of the statute of frauds and perjuries and other English statutes as are of force in the District, are also given.
