We will now commence our hearings on the 1999 budget for various legislative branch agencies under the jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Legislative Appropriations. Before we begin, I would like to welcome the Members of the subcommittee. We have the same membership as we had in the first session of the 105th Congress with one exception. The Members are, in addition to myself, for the Majority: Bill Young of Florida; Duke Cunningham of California, who has been designated Vice Chairman; Zach Wamp of Tennessee; and Tom Latham of Iowa. And Tom is here with us this morning. Thank you, Tom, for coming. For the Minority: Congressman José Serrano of New York is the Ranking Minority Member. Welcome back. Good to see you. Vic Fazio of California. And also the change is Steny Hoyer of Maryland will be replacing Marcy Kaptur of Ohio. We will miss Marcy, and we welcome Steny.
