MADISON, WIS., CELEBRATED A very enthusiastic celebration occurred Madison, Wisconsin, participated in by members of Local Union 802, the occasion being the twenty-fifth birthday of that Local Union.

The celebration was held in the building owned by organized labor of Madison, which is the meeting place of Local 802, and especially do they take a great pride in this building since their members, together with those of other Building Trades, donated their services in remodeling the building which was purchased as the home of the local labor movement.

The celebration was enlivened by the presence of the families of the members and a very tempting banquet was served, during which addresses were made by Brother Claud E. Downes, President Wisconsin State Conference of Painters, General Organizer Frank Curran, Brother Eugene Stringer, President of Local Union 314, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and Brother J. H. Brown, Business Representative of the Carpenters' Local at Madison.

Brother Sol Reist acted as toastmaster. During the course of the evening, Recording Secretary F. H. McClain delivered a very interesting address in which the very worth-while history of the Local Union was given.

It is a well-known fact that Madison Local 802 is not only one of the "old timers" in the organizatin but, in addition, has had the reputation as functioning with the greatest spirit of harmony and cooperation which could be possible.

In the cold desert in Kashgar, Eastern Turkestan, there are no reptiles, and not even a fly.
