The responses to questions about HMO's which the Subcommittee on Health has collected for this Committee Print should be of value to Members of the Committee and the Senate as a whole, as well as to the many groups in the country that are concerned with resolving the health care crisis. HARRISON A. WILLIAMS, Jr., (VII) LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL U.S. SENATE, COMMITTEE ON LABOR AND PUBLIC WELFARE, Hon. HARRISON A. WILLIAMS, Jr., U.S.Senate, Old Senate Office Building, DEAR MR. CHAIRMAN: On December 2, 1971, the Health Subcommittee completed an initial series of hearings on Health Maintenance Organizations. The hearings involved extensive testimony concerning the organization, structure, financing and planning of HMO's. Each witness was presented with a series of questions concerning various important aspects and characteristics of Health Maintenance Organizations. The written responses to the questions have been returned to the committee by a majority of the witnesses. In addition the opinions of several knowledgeable individuals who did not testify before the Subcommittee were solicited. I believe the responses to our questions will be of interest to parties outside the members of the Subcommittee, and would therefore like to request that they be printed. |
