The subsequent Editions up to the Eleventh inclusive were brought out by his Honour the late Judge J. A. Russell, Q.C., between 1850 and 1881. The Twelfth was brought out by the present Editor and Sir William Geary in 1890, and the Thirteenth by the present Editor in 1896. In compliance with a suggestion of the publishers, this Fourteenth Edition is produced as a companion volume to the Third Edition of Clerk and Lindsell on Torts. The Editors of these works, though each of them solely responsible for his own book, have had the advantage of conferring with one another both on points of arrangement and difficulty. Rec.
