DEAR MR. PRESIDENT: Having served as an Associate Judge of the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals for more than ten years consecutively and being more than seventy years of age, I desire to retire as a judge of the above-mentioned court and do hereby retire from regular active service but retain my office as provided by law.

I desire this retirement to be effective as of this day.
