C. With reference to article 274 (e) (2) of the Customs Regulations of 1937, as amended by T. D. 49426 [Sec. 6.1 (c)], invoices of articles composed wholly or in chief value of metal and provided for under items 339 and 397 of the trade agreement with the United Kingdom, T. D. 49753, are hereby required to set forth in addition to all other information required by law or regulation the following: (1) The name of the metal which is in chief value; (2) Whether or not the article is plated; (3) If the article is plated the name of the metal or metals with which the article is plated and the name of the metal or metals upon which the plating is plated. This requirement will be effective as to invoices certified after 60 days after publication of this document in the weekly TREASURY DECISIONS. (Sec. 481 (a) (10), 46 Stat. 719; 19 U. S. To Collectors of Customs and Others Concerned: The appended list of places which the Bureau of Customs, on recommendation to the Treasury Department from the Department of State, holds to be so remote from an American consulate as to render impracticable certification by an American consular officer of invoices covering merchandise from those places is published for the information and guidance of collectors of customs and others concerned. Under the provisions of section 482 (f), Tariff Act of 1930, (U. S. C. title 19, sec. 1482 (f)), such invoices may be certified by a consular officer of a nation at the time in amity with the United States or, if there be no such consular officer available, such invoices shall be executed before a notary public or other officer having authority to administer oaths and having an official seal.
