THE SECRETARY: Allow me to supplement what you have said in regard to the American Pharmaceutical Association by the remark that I have here some blank applications for membership in that Association which I should be very glad to have distributed, and I think I have enough to satisfy all that may desire to join. THE PRESIDENT: I trust some of those present, at least, will decide to fill out those applications today. As I said in my address, I believe it is a grand, good investment for one looking for good knowledge. While they meet in different parts of the country, their proceedings are very valuable. Though I never had time to go all through them, yet I examine them, and think it is a good book for pharmacists to have. The next meeting of that Association will be held in New York City in September ; and that is pretty close to us. Probably some might feel more like joining in view of the fact that they could go to that meeting. I certainly would like to attend at least one of the meetings, having never done so, and I think this year quite a few Connecticut men will be found there, because so near. THE PRESIDENT: The next order of business is the report of the Treasurer, Mr. Ebbs. THE PRESIDENT: Gentlemen, you have heard the report of the Treasurer. I would state that during the past year we have had some expenses that we do not ordinarily have. That one item of $171.60, to those not familiar with it, I would state was a deficiency which had to be met at the last meeting in New London. Nevertheless, I believe the Connecticut Pharmaceutical Association is still in good condition financially. That particular item of $150 legal expenses this Association voted to pay will not come up again. And we still have a healthy balance in the bank. You have heard the report of the Treasurer, and it has been examined and found correct. What is your pleasure? (Voted that it be accepted and printed.) THE PRESIDENT: The next business is the report of the Executive Committee, Mr. Schmelzer, chairman. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE To the Officers and Members of the Connecticut Pharmaceutical Association: Your Executive Committee submits the following report: A meeting of the committee was held at the Allyn House, Hartford, July 3rd 1906. Proceedings of the 1906 meeting were reviewed and ordered printed, but for various reasons, which will be explained by the Secretary, we have been unable to obtain them. It was voted to reimburse Mr. H. H. Daboll local Secretary of the New London meeting for the shortage incurred at that meeting, which was reported as $171.60 and that the voluntary subscription be returned with all due respect to the donors, as it was deemed inadviseable to estabLish such a precedent. It was voted not to include the Associate Members in the total membership when remitting the N. A. R. D. dues. It was decided to discontinue offering prizes for new members. Another meeting was held in the Allyn House April 23, 1907—it was decided to hold the annual meeting at Bridgeport June12 and Mr. K. O. Cyrus was appointed local Secretary. After a careful consideration of the vote taken at the last annual meeting we concluded that it was absolutely necessary to carry out the directions of the association and therefore called a one day's business meeting in Bridgeport and a meeting the following week at Magnolia, Mass., the place designated for the joint meeting of the associations of the New England States. |
