PANAMA CANAL COMPANY,

TRANSPORTATION OF PASSENGERS BETWEEN U.S. AND CANAL ZONE

The following Exhibit consists of two Schedules. The first, Schedule I-I, shows how Panama Canal Co. personnel traveled between the Canal Zone and the U.S. in the fiscal years 1957, 1958, and 1959. Since these data are based on travel requests submitted to the Transportation Section and processed through the Claims Section, they may not check 100 percent with Panama Line records. Schedule I-II shows the number of Panama Canal Company and other government employees who traveled via the Panama Line during the past 5 fiscal years,

as follows:

Government Official: Includes recruitment, repatriation, and
other official travel by Panama Canal Company employees.

Employees' home leave: Includes employees traveling on home
leave and annual reduced rate privilege.

Other government departments: Includes others entitled to
reduced rate transportation, principally families of GAO
employees and congressmen.

Free: Includes congressmen and others entitled to free trans-
portation.
