The terms of office of the Resident Commissioners of the Philippine Islands expired when the new government of the Commonwealth of the Philippine Islands was inaugurated; both served until Feb. 14, 1936, when a selected successor qualified. (See 48 Stat. 456.) This law also reduced from 2 to 1 the number of Resident Commissioners.
