DEAR SENATOR: In response to your letter of May 5 to Mr. Taylor, I enclose herewith a list as of March 10, 1972 of the 30 largest stockholders in Western Airlines, which list shows the number of shares of capital stock each such stockholder owns. You will notice that with three exceptions the listed stockholders are either brokers or nominees. The three individual stockholders on the list all are Directors of Western Airlines.

As of the date of the enclosed list there were issued and outstanding 5,395,746 shares of voting stock in the corporation.

The total number of outstanding voting shares of common stock is 2,179,892.

An exchange offer was made by Chicago Milwaukee Corporation to holders of the Railroad Company's stock which became effective January 14, 1972. Approximately 95 percent of the Railroad stock was tendered to and is now owned by Chicago Milwaukee Corporation, with the remaining ownership scattered among 1389 holders.
