The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Benjamin F. Massey, the Senator from the seventeenth senatorial district, whose term of service commenced with the last session, appeared and took his

seat.

Whereupon, William C. Oliver having received a majority of all the votes given, was declared duly elected engrossing clerk of the Senate, was qualified, and entered on the discharge of his duties.

Resolved, That the Senate proceed to the election of an enrolling clerk. Nominations for the office of enrolling clerk of the Senate, being in order, Mr. Hudspeth nominated James M. Buford.

Mr. Detchemendy nominated Frederick Flach.
