Organized Reserve Training Unit (port security) (ORTUPS) To provide training for Organized Reserve personnel for active duty in prescribed specialties connected with port security responsibilities. Organized Reserve Training Unit (port security) (operational) (ORTUPS (0)) To provide team and functional training for Organized Reserve personnel in a manner which will enable; them to establish port security units in important but currently unprotected ports and for the assumption of port security duties generally in accordance with general emergency plans. Organized Reserve training unit (vessel augmentation) (ORTUAG) To provide training for organized Reserve personnel for active duty in prescribed specialties aboard Coast Guard floating units. Organized Reserve training unit (Rescue Coordination Center) (OR1UR) To provide training for organized Reserve personnel for active duty in prescribed specialties in connection with Rescue Coordination Center. Organized Reserve training unit (aviation support) (ORTUE L) To provide training for organized Reserve personnel for active duty in prescribed specialties in connection with electronics. Organized Reserve training unit (aviation support) (ORTUAV) To augment the personnel and provide administrative and maintenance support to existing Coast Guard air installations in the event of mobilization. Organized Reserve training unit (mobilization detachment) (MOBDET) To screen, select, and assign Reserve personnel to appropriate billets in advance of mobilization in accordance with requirements set forth in district mobilization plans. Organized Reserve Training Center To perform coordinated station keeper duties, including liaison with appropriate local agencies, in order to provide maximum effective utilization of the facilities by the Reserve units assigned. Port security station Under operational and administrative control of the captain of the port, to exercise the Coast Guard's law enforcement authority (less authority which is specifically vested in Marine Inspection Offices) and carry out the Coast Guard's port security program; protect and preserve life and property from accident and sabotage. Port security training detachment To provide specialized training for captain of the port organizations and port security stations. Radiobeacon station To operate and maintain a radiobeacon. (Note: A radiobeacon at a light station is considered a normal function of the station and is not listed as a separate subunit.) Radio station To provide radio communications incident to Coast Guard operations. Recruit training center To provide for the processing and indoctrination of recruits. Recruiting office To prosecute actively the recruitment of men. Rescue coordination center To promote efficient organization and direction of search and rescue effort within an established area, exercise operational control over forces assigned (Coast Guard or other, in accordance with joint agreements), and coordinate the activities of all participating forces in any particular case. Additionally, to keep informed of all sources potentially capable of providing assistance or information and plan for their effective use. Reserve training center To train officer candidates; to provide limited advanced and specialized training for Coast Guard officers; to provide specialized training for Reserve officers and Reserve enlisted personnel assigned for active duty training. Section office To exercise operational control, and administrative control as may be directed, over subordinate commands within certain assigned geographical limits; to maintain liaison with appropriate regional public and private agencies. Ship training detachment To provide operational training for Coast Guard floating units. (NOTE.-This type of unit is normally established as a district unit for administrative control; operational control is vested in the area commander.) Supply center To effect the centralized procurement, inspection, storage, inventory control, accounting, issue, and shipping of designated categories of material for designated Coast Guard units on a servicewide or regional basis. Supply depot To coordinate and consolidate the requirements of designated units (normally, of those within the limits of the district in which the supply depot is established) for supplies and equipment; to effect the procurement, storage, preservation, stock inventory control, stores accounting, issue, and shipping of supplies and equipment, within limitations prescribed by Headquarters. Training detachment To provide advanced training for personnel to fill the needs of the Coast Guard in various activities. Training center To provide advanced training for enlisted personnel to fill the needs of the Coast Guard in various specialty ratings: to provide training for officers in certain technical specialties; to provide additional training beyond recruit training for reserve enlisted personnel, as may be directed by the Commandant (P).
