PUBLISHED TOWARD THE ERECTION OF A GIRL'S SCHOOL AT WALLA WALLA. 3 Recipe for a Pleasant Dinner Party. "A round table, holding eight, A hearty welcome and little state; As plain as you please, but always prime; Servants who don't require a tutor; Warm plates and hot potatoes." 4 PREFACE. 1 ALL of the following "choice receipts" have been thoroughly tested; and the most of them taken from old family manuscripts. The first edition of this little book, issued in 1872, for the benefit of Christ Church Fair, sold so rapidly, that the demand far exceeded the supply; and in order to accommodate a large number of subscribers, it is deemed advisable to put forth a second and revised edition, containing a number of additional receipts-the proceeds of which have been donated by the compiler toward the erection of a Girl's School at Walla Walla, Washington Territory. |
