CHANGING AND DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF BUTTE COUNTY.
AN ACT Changing and Defining the Boundaries of Butte County.
Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

§ 1. SUBMITTED TO VOTERS.] At the general election in 1898 the question of changing and defining the boundaries of Butte county as hereinafter provided in this act shall be submitted to the voters of said Butte county, and if a majority of the votes cast in the said county of Butte shall be in favor of changing and defining the boundary lines of said Butte county as in this act hereinafter provided, then the boundaries of said Butte county shall be made as in this act hereinafter provided, and shall include all the territory that shall be included in the boundaries hereinafter stated.

§ 2. COMMISSIONERS GIVE NOTICE.] The board of county commissioners of Butte county at the said general election in 1898, shall give due notice that the question of changing and defining the boundaries of Butte county will be submitted to the voters of said county, and said notice shall contain a description of the boundaries as in this act hereinafter described, and the proposition shall be submitted to the voters in substantially the following form: Shall the boundaries of Butte county be changed as described in this act, giving in said notice the title and date of approval of this act.

§ 3. BOUNDARIES DEFINED.] If, at the said election, a majority of the voters of the county of Butte as it is now bounded, shall vote for a change in the boundary lines of said Butte county, then the boundary lines of Butte county shall be as follows: Commencing at a point at the southwesterly corner of Butte county where Redwater Creek crosses the boundary line between the states of Wyoming and South Dakota; thence easterly along the main channel of Redwater Creek to the intersection of the township line between townships seven (7) and eight (8) north, Black Hills base line; thence east along said township line to the intersection of the township line between ranges nine (9) and ten (10) east of the Black Hills meridian; thence north along said township line to the third standard parallel north; thence east along said third standard parallel line to the intersection thereof with the western boundary line of the Cheyenne Agency Indian reservation; thence north along the western boundary line of the Cheyenne Agency Indian reservation and the western boundary line of

the Standing Rock Indian reservation to the boundary line between the states of North Dakota and South Dakota; thence west along said boundary line to the boundary line between the states of Montana and South Dakota; thence south along said boundary line and the boundary line between Wyoming and South Dakota to the place of beginning.

4. RECORDS KEPT.] If the boundary lines of said Butte county shall be changed as in this act provided, then all records that have been kept by any officers of Butte county for any unorganized county that may have heretofore been attached to said Butte county shall become the records of Butte county, and the register of deeds shall index all deeds or other instruments now by law required to be indexed, in the proper index books of Butte county, with proper reference to the books where such instruments may have been recorded.

§ 5. REPEAL.] All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

CHANGING AND DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF PENNINGTON

COUNTY.

AN ACT Changing and Defining the Boundaries of Pennington County. Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

§ 1. QUESTION SUBMITTED.] At the general election in 1898, the question of changing and defining the boundaries of Pennington county, as hereinafter provided in this act, shall be submitted to the voters of said Pennington county, and if a majority of the votes cast in the said county of Pennington shall be in favor of changing and defining the boundary lines of said Pennington county as in this act hereinafter provided then the boundaries of said Pennington county shall be made as in this act as hereinafter provided and shall include all the territory that shall be included in the boundaries hereinafter stated.

§ 2. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO GIVE NOTICE OF ELECTION.] The board of county commissioners of Pennington county at the said general election in 1898, shall give due notice that the question of changing and defining the boundaries of Pennington county will be submitted to the voters of said

county, and said notice shall contain a description of the boundaries as in this act hereinafter described and the proposition shall be submitted to the voters in substantially the following form: "Shall the boundaries of Pennington county be changed as described in this act," giving in said notice the title and date of approval of this act.

§ 3. BOUNDARIES DEFINED.] If, at the said election a majority of the voters of the county of Pennington as is now bounded, shall vote for a change in the boundary lines of said Pennington county, then the boundary lines of Pennington county shall be as follows: Commencing at a point on the boundary line between the states of Wyoming and South Dakota, at the southwest corner of Pennington county, thence east along the boundary line between Custer and Pennington counties to the Cheyenne river; thence southerly up the center of the main channel of the said Cheyenne river to its intersection with the northerly boundary line of the Pine Ridge Indian reservation; thence east along said line to the township line between ranges seventeen (17) and eighteen (18) east of the Black Hills meridian; thence north along said township line to the Big Cheyenne river; thence westerly up and along the center of the main channel of the Big Cheyenne river to the junction of the Belle Fourche and Cheyenne rivers; thence southerly up and along the main channel of the Cheyenne river to the boundary line between Meade and Pennington counties; thence west along said boundary line and along the boundary line between Pennington and Lawrence counties to its intersection with the boundary line between the states of Wyoming and South Dakota; thence south along said line to the point of beginning.

§ 4. RECORDS BY WHOM KEPT.] If the boundary lines of said Pennington county shall be changed as in this act provided. then all records that have been kept by any officer of Pennington county for any unorganized county that may have heretofore been attached to said Pennington county shall be come the records of Pennington county and the register of deeds shall index all deeds or other instruments now by law required to be indexed in the proper index books of Pennington county with proper reference to the books where such instruments may have been recorded.

§ 5. REPEAL.] All acts or parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

DEFINING BOUNDARIES OF LYMAN COUNTY.

AN ACT Changing and Defining the Boundaries of Lyman County.
Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

§ 1. SUBMITTED TO VOTERS.] At the general election in 1898 the question of changing and defining the boundaries of Lyman county as hereinafter provided in this act, shall be submitted to the voters of said Lyman county, and if a majority of the votes cast in the said county of Lyman shall be in favor of changing and defining the boundary lines of said Lyman county as in this act hereinafter provided, then the boundaries of said Lyman county shall be made as in this act hereinafter provided, and shall include all the territory that shall be included in the boundaries hereinafter stated.

§ 2. BOUNDARIES DEFINED.] If, at the said election, a majority of the voters of the county of Lyman as it is now bounded, shall vote for a chauge in the boundary lines of said Lyman county, then the boundary lines of Lyman county shall be as follows: "Commencing at a point being the center of the main channel of the Missouri river where the base line forming the southern boundary line of the state of Minnesota extended crosses the Missouri river; thence west along the said base line to the Tenth Guide meridian; thence north along said Tenth Guide meridian to its intersection with White river; thence west along the center of the main channel of White river to the intersection of the township line between ranges twenty-five (25) and twenty-six (26) east of the Black Hills meridian; thence north along said township line to its intersection with the township line between townships two (2) and three (3) north of the Black Hills base line; thence east along said township line to the center of the main channel of the Missouri river; thence southeasterly down the center of the main channel of the Missouri

river to the north end of island known as American Island, thence along the west bank of said island to the south end of said island to a point at or near the center of main channel of said river to place of beginning.

§ 4. RECORDS KEPT.] If the boundary lines of said Lyman county shall be changed as in this act provided, then all records that have been kept by any officers of Lyman county for any unorganized county that may have heretofore been attached to said Lyman county, shall become the records of Lyman county, and the register of deeds shall index all deeds or other instruments now by law required to be indexed, in the proper index books of Lyman county, with proper reference to the books where such instruments may have been recorded.

§ 5. REPEAL.] That all acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF GREGORY COUNTY. AN ACT Entitled an Act Defining the Boundaries of Gregory County. Be it Enacted by the Legislature of the State of South Dakota:

§ 1. BOUNDARIES DEFINED.] That Gregory county shall be bounded as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the Missouri river by township line between townships one hundred and one hundred and one; thence west on said township line to its intersection with the tenth guide meridian; thence south on said guide meridian to the south boundary line of the state; thence east on said boundary line to the Missouri river; thence up the center of the main channel of said river to the point of beginning.

§ 2. TODD COUNTY MADE A PART OF GREGORY COUNTY.] That the county of Todd included in said boundaries is hereby made a part of Gregory county.

§3. REPEAL.] All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.
