The Review staff is temporarily working far ahead on our publication schedule to accommodate publication of the Federal Litigation Manual revision as our special issue at the beginning of 1988, following publication of the Annual Review of Poverty Law. Meanwhile, publication of specific deadlines may be more confusing than helpful.

For example, ads for this October issue, which we expected to print and mail at the beginning of September instead of the beginning of October, were due August 1, and latecomers were accommodated through the first week of August. For this temporary period, probably through the December 1987 issue, ads received by the first of the month will appear in the next month's issue. If in doubt, call Pat Gordon at the Clearinghouse.

Those with urgent deadlines may request that their job ads be included in the next job newsletter. The job newsletter goes to all law school placement offices and legal services offices approximately three weeks before the issue of the Review in which the ads are to appear. If job newsletter distribution is desired, please make telephone arrangements and furnish us with a typed version of your ad no longer than 1/2 page.

Materials for Inclusion in the
1988 Clearinghouse Publications Catalog

Manuals, checklists, outlines, brochures, training materials, and the like that you have prepared for local program use and are willing to share with others are needed for inclusion in next year's Clearinghouse Publications Catalog. The deadline for the 1988 Catalog is February 5, 1988, but we urge you to send the materials promptly so they can be included in a Review announcement first. These need not be newly created documents, but please use your judgment and send us documents that are currently useful and that you expect to be useful at least through 1988. The Catalog is only for non-case materials that you are willing to have the Clearinghouse distribute. You can request announcements for the occasional item you wish to sell or distribute from your own office, but these will not be included in the Catalog.

When this announcement was written in mid-August, all subscribers appear to have received their free copy of the 1987 catalog. The Order Department Staff report that they have received many orders from documents in the 1987 catalog, and orders are coming in daily. Almost every document in the catalog is being ordered by someone, so it would be difficult to compile a bestseller list. We were surprised to see how many order forms included a request for Ed Brown's Psychiatric Evaluation Packet, Robert Gillett's Foreclosure Prevention Outline, or Eileen Sweeney's SSA's New Procedures for Face-to-face Hearings. The Clearinghouse thanks all those who have contributed the documents included in this year's catalog.
