concrete gutter is chipped and crumbling. Curbs are out of alignment and are tripping hazards.

Description: This project will remove the top two inches of asphalt and replace it with a new twoinch layer. If there is an underlying problem, full depth repairs will be completed. Approximately 1,200 linear feet of granite curbs will be reset or replaced as necessary. New gutter bricks will be installed as needed. The roadway will be restriped.

Impact if not Funded: The road will continue to deteriorate and require cold patch installation which increases the unevenness of the road. This will generate a greater chance of vehicle-and pedestrian accidents.

Project Title: Cultural Landscape Report: Capitol Square and Senate Parks (Study)

$500,000

Project Requirement: Provide Cultural Landscape Reports (CLRs) for Capitol Square and Senate Parks. The CLRs will document the history, significance, and treatment of the landscape and provide information to enable informed landscape management decisions.

Current Situation: The AOC has no comprehensive planning guide for the preservation and ongoing maintenance of the grounds of Capitol Square and the Senate parks. There are no documents that evaluate the historic and cultural significance of these irreplaceable resources; therefore, there is no basis to provide information needed to make principled management decisions to guide landscape decisions.

Description: This study will create two CLRs for Capitol Square and the Senate parks. The study will include historical research; surveying and inventorying of existing elements and features; evaluation of existing conditions and analysis of the integrity of these conditions; determination of significance; and development of a treatment plan. The CLRs will contain descriptive text; graphic information including drawings, sketches and photographs; and a cost estimate and schedule for proposed work items that will need to compete for future funding.

Impact if not Funded: The potential for additional damage, deterioration and loss of original historic fabric is greatly increased without the historically accurate information that will be provided by this study.
