mile for transportation of passengers on rail-

roads and railways operating wholly or in part

in the State of Montana, and providing penalties

for the violation thereof..

H. B.-An Act to repeal Section 1318 of the Political Code

relating to elections....

H. B.-An Act to amend Sections 1152 and 1173 of the Code

of Civil Procedure of Montana..

H. B.-An Act to authorize the courts of record of this

State to issue injunctions to restrain persons or

corporations from violating any of the provisions

of section 20 of Article XV of the Constitution

of the State of Montana, or of any law or laws

enacted for enforcing said section pending the final

determination of any action, civil or criminal,

brought in any court for the purpose of enforc-

ing said section of the constitution, or any law

or laws enacted thereunder..

H. B.-An Act fixing the maximum number of deputy

sheriffs in counties of the first class and the maxi-

mum annual compensation thereof..

S. B.-An Act to amend Title VIII, Division II, Part IV, of

the Civil Code of the State of Montana relating to

the appropriation of water for beneficial pur-

poses and defining the rights of appropriators, by

adding two new sections to be numbered Sections

1903, and 1901..

H. B.--An Act to amend the Act entitled, "An Act to pre-

vent wrongs to children and dumb animals, and

to establish a bureau of child and animal pro-

tection." Approved March 7, 1903 and repealing

sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of said Act....

H. B.-An Act relative to number of assistants allowed

treasurers in counties of the first class, and fixing

the compensation allowed said deputies and assist-

ants in counties of the first class...

H. B.-An Act to make legal and valid certain special

improvement district warrants issued by the City

of Havre, Choteau County, Montana, by virtue of

an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the State

of Montana, entitled an Act relating to public im-

provements in cities and towns, etc., "Approved

March 8th, 1897, in payment for the construction

of a sanitary sewer in the said City of Havre."

S. B.-An Act to provide for the nomination of candidates

by direct vote at a primary election, to provide

the method of adopting such Acts in any county,

or city and to amend Sections 1206 of the Political

Code as amended by the laws of 1899 and 1260 of

the Political Code...

S. B.-"An Act authorizing the incorporation of endow-

ment and investment companies."

S. B.-An Act to regulate the speed and operation of

automobiles and motor vehicles on highways....

H. Sub. for S. B. 48.-An Act regulating foreign corporations

and joint stock companies doing a banking business

within the State of Montana, and prescribing penal-

ties and punishment for violations of the pro-

visions thereof....

H. B.-An Act to enable the State to accept an offer of

the United States, made by an Act of Congress, in

relation to the Arid Lands, commonly known as

the Carey Act, approved August the 18th, 1894, and

the amendments thereto, and to promote the rec-

lamation and settlement of said lands, and to

reimburse the State for money heretofore or here-

after used for such reclamation, by defining addi-

tional duties and powers of the Carey Land Act

Board, relieving the State of liability, providing

the method of letting contracts for the reclama-

tion and settlement of said Arid Lands, providing

for the ratification of contracts for the classifica-

tion and disposal of said lands, disposition of funds

thus derived, making water rights appurtenant to

the lands reclaimed, granting the contractor con-

structing works for reclaiming such lands a lien

upon the same and the water rights appurtenant

thereto for the purchase price of such water rights

and providing for the foreclosure and redemption

of the same, permitting the use of water for power

purposes subject to right of irrigators, permitting

the exercise of the right of eminent domain in

connection with such reclamation work and pro-

viding for the conveyance by the said Board of

any property required by the State, the conveyance

of which is necessary to the maintenance of any

action or defense by the State in reference to

such lands, fixing fees, appropriating funds and re-

pealing conflicting laws....

H. B.-An Act to provide for the construction and main-

tenance of drains, and the assessment and col-

lection of taxes therefor...

H. B.-"An Act to provide for the extermination of wolves

and coyotes by inoculating the same with Mange,

and to place such duties under the charge of the

State Veterinarain, and to make an appropria-

tion for such experiments."

S. B.-An Act to amend section 4024 of the Political

Code of the State of Montana, Relating to the

protest of taxes, and providing for an action at law

to recover taxes paid under protest, by adding

thereto a section to be known as Section 4024-A,
