The high caliber of the delegates who attended the conference is shown in the content of the papers contained in these Proceedings; these < papers reflect a serious study of the whole broad range of conservation problems. The Conference had the benefit of the thinking of the outstanding conservation leaders and technicians of the entire Western Hemisphere. The splendid support given it by countries of the Western Hemisphere was gratifying; every country was represented. Here was recognition of the fact that conservation is a problem which admits of no national boundary lines, and one which provides a common meeting ground for all nations striving for better living for their peoples. The Americas have a right to be proud of having approached, on an international basis, the problem of working together to conserve natural resources for the benefit of mankind.
