Records of the Forest Service The region accessioned one cubic foot of advisory committee files relating to multiple uses of national forests in Utah. The records, dated 1971-73, also contain a map of Sawtooth Wilderness. Area, reports on special interest areas, and material relating to publicity. (Record Group 95.) Records of the Geological Survey Rocky Mountain Recent accessions by the National Archives notebooks, 1884-1906, created by the U.S. Geological Survey. These notebooks contain data from surveys conducted primarily in Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Texas, and Wyoming. The region also received two cubic feet of general correspondence files, 1931-62, concerning the Kokomo district in Colorado. (Record Group 57.) Records of the Office of the Secretary of the Interior The region recently accessioned three cubic feet of environmental law cases, 1972-77, that were selected by the Field Solicitor as being legally significant. Among the plaintiffs in the cases are the Sierra Club, the Committee to Save North Dakota, the Montana Wildlife Federation, the Montana Wilderness Association, and the United Family Farmers. (Record Group 48.) Records of the Public Health Service The region accessioned 68 cubic feet of records, 1890-1952, created by the first Marine hospital established at Fort Stanton, New Mexico. The hospital was created by the Public Health Service in 1899 for tubercular seamen. The accession includes correspondence from the Office of the Surgeon General, 1899-1921, and from the Office of the Secretary, 1899-1905; miscellaneous correspondence regarding equipment, supplies, personnel, and the arrival of patients and their condition, 1895-1921; daily report and orders 1901-12; registers of hospital patients, 1899-1911; and patient history record books, 1899-1920. Also included are monthly schedules of encumbrances, payroll and bill books, and lists of changes in duties and stations of commissioned officers. (Record Group 90.) Records Relating to Emergency Preparedness The region also accessioned one cubic foot of general correspondence files, 1962-67, created by the Denver Region Office of Emergency Preparedness. The correspondence primarily concerns programs and communications with Canadian officials on emergency preparedness. (Record Group 396.) The National Archives-Central Plains Region has accessioned 19 cubic feet of Standing Rock Agency records. These records are an accretion to previously described Individual Indian Money Posting and Control records. The region has also accessioned two cubic feet of Cattle Sales Program Correspondence files, 1947-55, for Standing Rock Agency. The records document the administrative and fiscal functions of the agency cattle sales program. The region accessioned 16 cubic feet of Law Enforcement Case Files, 1950-65, for Pierre Indian Agency. These records document - individuals accused of criminal offenses cited in the Codes of both Lower Brule and Crow Creek reservations, and consist of criminal complaints, records of the Tribal Court, warrants to arrest, and final commitment and release forms. The region accessioned 16 cubic feet of Individual Indian Money Posting and Control Records, 1956-65, and Decimal Correspondence Files, 1949-71, for the Aberdeen Area Office. These records are an accretion to previously described records. Two cubic feet of Pierre Indian Agency records were also recently accessioned by the region. The records include Social Worker's Day Sheets, 1960-65, which describe consultations between Indians and agency social workers. Also included are Officer's Weekly Activity Reports, 1960-65, which list the law enforcement officer's name, rank, hours of duty and a statistical summary of cases assigned to the officer. A Law and Order Survey Report, 1963, is a narrative account of the law and order program at the Crow Creek and Lower Brule reservations. Criminal Case Files, 1944-64, pertain to criminal cases involving Indians of the Pierre Agency jurisdiction and include the violation, personal history of the defendant, and depositions. Statistical Reports, 1957-64, include narrative and statistical descriptions of law enforcement activities on the Crow Creek and Lower Brule reservations. Civil Case Files, 1952-60, document civil complaints heard in the Court of Indian Offenses in the Crow Creek jurisdiction. Daily Jail and Case Records, 1962-65, list individual Indian offenders whose cases were heard in Indian Court. (Record Group 75.) Records of the District Courts of the United States Three cubic feet of naturalization records, 1895-1985, for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, Springfield Division, have been accessioned into the region. It also accessioned 165 cubic feet of Anti-trust Case Files and Personal Correspondence of Chief Judge William H. Becker, 1962-77, under a direct transfer from chambers of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Group 21.) (Record Records of the Federal Highway Administration Arrangement and description have been completed for six cubic feet of Federal Aid Project Files, 1967, for District Offices located in Topeka, Kansas; St. Paul, Minnesota; Jefferson City, Missouri; and Bismark, North Dakota. The records consist chiefly of project agreements, inspection reports, public vouchers, and other related information documenting Federal fund participation in road and highway construction. (Record Group 406.) Records of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Arrangement and description have been completed for six cubic feet of Weather Bureau records, 1966-69. (Record Group 370.) Records of the National Parks Service The region has accessioned one cubic foot of Civil Defense Files, 1951-57, created by the National Parks Service, Region II. The records consist of administrative subject files documenting regional coordination of activities and contingency plans for mobilization of civil defense procedures. (Record Group 79.) |
