CHAPTER 374.

An Act amending an Act concerning Districts for Fire,
Sewer and other Purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Section 1999 of the general statutes as Purposes of amended by chapter 192 of the public acts of 1915 is amended to such districts. read as follows: At such meeting the legal voters may establish the district for any or all of the following purposes: To extinguish fires, to sprinkle streets, to light streets, to establish building lines, to plant and care for shade and ornamental trees, to construct and maintain sidewalks, crosswalks, drains and sewers, to appoint and employ watchmen or police officers and to collect garbage, ashes and all other refuse matter in any portion of such district. They may name the district and choose necessary officers therefor to hold office until the first annual meeting thereof; and the district shall thereupon be a body corporate and politic and have the powers in relation to the objects for which it was established that are necessary for the accomplishment of such objects, including the power to lay and collect taxes. The clerk of such district shall cause its name and a description of its territorial limits, and of any additions that may be made thereto, to be recorded in the land records of the town in which such district is located.

SEC. 2. The governor and board of control are authorized and directed to approve the expenditure of such sums as are recommended by the military emergency board to carry out the provisions of this act and the comptroller is directed, upon such approval, to draw his order on the treasurer for such sums. CHAPTER 376.

An Act concerning the Jurisdiction of the Shell-Fish
Commissioners.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Section four of chapter 209 of the public acts of 1907 is amended to read as follows: When such map is so made and is accepted by the shell-fish commissioners, said commissioners shall exercise, exclusively, the powers and duties with reference to the grounds covered thereby which they now have or may hereafter exercise with reference to the grounds south of said line.

SEC. 2. Section two of chapter 125 of the public acts of 1909 is amended to read as follows: When such map is so made and is accepted by the shell-fish commissioners, said commissioners shall exercise, exclusively, the powers and duties with reference to the grounds designated thereby which they now have or may hereafter exercise with reference to the grounds south of the present state jurisdiction line.

SEC. 3. Section one of chapter 266 of the public acts of 1915 is amended to read as follows: The shell-fish commissioners and the selectmen of the town of Milford shall constitute a commission which, at the expense of said town, on or before July 1, 1916, shall cause a map to be made of the shell-fish franchises within the limits of said town northerly of the state jurisdiction line. When a map so made shall be accepted by the shell-fish commissioners, said commissioners shall have the same exclusive jurisdiction over the grounds covered thereby as over grounds south of said line.

SEC. 4. This act shall take effect from its passage.

An Act authorizing the Governor to collect and receipt for

Support of Disabled Soldiers and Sailors of the United States."

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

The governor as president of the soldiers' hospital board is authorized in behalf of the state to receive, collect and receipt for any moneys which are or may become due to this state under the provisions of an act of the congress of the United States, approved August 27, 1888, entitled "An Act to provide Aid to State and Territorial Homes for the Support of Disabled Soldiers and Sailors of the United States," and any amendments thereto.

An Act concerning Appropriations by Towns for
Military Organizations.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Any town may, at any annual or special town meeting, make appropriations for the assistance, support or maintenance of any military organization, organized within such town and in the service of the state or United States.

CHAPTER 379.

An Act concerning the Continuation and Revision of the
Census of the Resources of the State.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Any city or borough, by proper ordinance or by-law, or any town, by vote, may provide for a continuation and revision, as to such city, borough or town, and, at its expense, of resources of from time to time, of all or any part of the census and inventory of the resources of the state taken under the provisions of chapter 4 of the public acts of 1917, and may appropriate and expend moneys therefor. A copy of the information contained in any such supplemental census or inventory shall be filed with the governor for the use of the state and the federal government.

SEC. 2. In the preparation of any such census and inventory it shall be the duty of every inhabitant of the city, borough or town in which the same is taken to furnish the officials in charge thereof with whatever information and assistance they may require, and the penalties provided by law for refusing to give information required in pursuance of said chapter 4 of the public acts of 1917 shall apply to any violation of the provisions of this act.

SEC. 3. This act shall take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 380.

An Act amending an Act concerning Lobster Fisheries. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Section one of chapter 106 of the public acts of 1907 is amended to read as follows: No person shall engage in lobster fishing in this state unless he shall have obtained a permit therefor, the fee for which shall be two dollars, from the commissioners of fisheries and game, which permit shall be nontransferable, shall be issued in such form, under such regulations consistent with the provisions of this act as said commissioners shall from time to time establish, and to such person as said commissioners shall determine, and shall be valid until revoked by said commissioners or surrendered as hereinafter provided.

An Act concerning Reports of Moneys expended for
Agricultural Purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in
General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. Any person who shall receive money from the state for the purpose of promoting the increase of agricultural products or of domestic animals and products thereof, shall, on or before the fifteenth day of November of each year in which such money is received, file with the comptroller a statement of the manner in which such moneys were expended and the result of such expenditure, including, if in competitions, the number of competitors, the lines in which the competitions were made, the amount of soil cultivated and the returns therefrom, with such other details as may be required by the comptroller.
