The total sum paid by the companies for taxes, including State supervision, after apportioning to electric account that part of the gas companies' taxes belonging to their electrical departments, was $835,030.43, an average of 6.7 cents per thousand feet of gas sold; being an increase over the amount paid the previous year of $105,253.41 in the total and an increase of three-tenths of a cent for every thousand feet sold.
