NORTHRUP MICROVOLTER

For the Accurate Measurement of Small E.M.F.s with Ranges from 50 Microvolts (millionths of a volt) at full scale to 1000 Microvolts at full scale

This instrument should interest workers in the biological and organic sciences, desiring
precise temperature measurement within the range of their work

The MICROVOLTER eliminates the necessity of calibrating a sensitive galvano-
meter by the use of a standard cell and accurate high resistances. It employs the
same galvanometer merely as a balance indicator in a "null method," all the calibra-
tion of the equipment being embodied in the MICROVOLTER. No standard cell
is employed.

The MICROVOLTER operates on the PYROVOLTER PRINCIPLE, and is well
designed and carefully constructed to eliminate all small thermal and contact E.M.F.s
that would affect the accuracy of its use.

For the measurement of small temperature ranges with high accuracy, it excels the
resistance thermometer, in that it measures a point temperature and has much less
temperature lag. It can be made accurately sensitively to changes of temperature as
small as 1/200th of 1° Centigrade.

The equipment offered for work of this class includes:
