1 Honorable Wiley Rutledge, of Iowa, an Associate Justice of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, was nominated by President Roosevelt on January 11, 1943, to be an Associate Justice of this Court; the nomination was confirmed by the Senate on February 8th; he was commissioned on February 11th, and took the oath and his seat on February 15, 1943.

It is ordered that the following allotment be made of the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of this Court among the Circuits, agreeably to the Acts of Congress in such case made and provided, and that such allotment be entered of record, viz:
