Preface

In response to requests by the library community and the Depository Library Coun the Public Printer, the Assistant Public Printer (Superintendent of Documents) in the summ 1974 directed the Library Division to join the Ohio College Library Center's on-line catal network, convert to the MARC format, and catalog according to Anglo-American catal rules (AACR).

The Monthly Catalog utilizes AACR and Library of Congress main entries. Subjec derived from Library of Congress Subject Headings 8th edition and its supplements. The ca consists of text and four indexes-author, title, subject, and series/report number.
