towns, public ways of, upon, along and under,

alteration in location and construction, selectmen may order,

lines, etc., regulations for,

poles and structures to become property of town,

purpose, transmission of electricity for light, heat, telegraph and tele-
phone, and for power, except such as used by street rail-
ways,

parties affected, all having authority to place poles, wires, structures
and other appliances for any purpose on or under public
ways,

violations of,
alterations at expense of parties upon violation after notice,

city or town wires, etc., like action on complaint of person injured,
after due notice to town as court orders, .
jurisdiction, supreme judicial court or supreme court in equity to en-
join; supreme court to enjoin progress or to order removal

road commissioners if such act in place of selectmen,
