SIR: I have the honor to transmit herewith for the consideration of Congress, in compliance with section 2 of the act of July 7, 1884 (5 U. S. C. 266), an estimate of appropriation under the Treasury Department for payment of a certain claim allowed by the General Accounting Office, covering a judgment rendered in a United States district court, amounting to $840.

The necessity for the appropriation asked is explained in the letter of the Director of the Bureau of the Budget, transmitted herewith, in whose comments and observations thereon I concur.

SIR: I have the honor to submit herewith for your consideration, in compliance with section 2 of the act of July 7, 1884 (5 U. S. C. 266), a schedule of a claim amounting to $840, allowed by the General Accounting Office, as covered by certificate of settlement No. 0781483, covering a judgment rendered in a United States district court, provided for under section 989, Revised Statutes (28 U. S. C. 842), as submitted by the Treasury Department.

Since no appropriation for the payment of this claim is provided by the above act, an appropriation for that purpose is necessary at this time, as follows:

The letter of the Treasury Department and a copy of the certificate of settlement, the number of which is shown in the first column of the schedule, are submitted herewith.

SIR: Pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of the act of July 7, 1884 (U. S. C., title 5, sec. 266), there is enclosed for your consideration, with a view to its submission to Congress, a schedule covering & claim allowed by the General Accounting Office under certificate of settlement No. 0781483, which has been forwarded to the Treasury Department for payment, covering a judgment rendered in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon against a collector of internal revenue, where certificate of probable cause has been issued, as provided for under section 989, Revised Statutes (U. S. C., title 28, sec. 842).

For the payment of this judgment claim there is required an appropriation under the Treasury Department, as follows:
