GENERAL ACT FOR THE PACIFIC SETTLEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL DISPUTES 1

Peru

According to a circular letter dated December 17, 1931, from the League of Nations, the representative of Peru on the Council of the League notified the Secretary-General, in accordance with the provisions of article 43 of the general act for the pacific settlement of international disputes, of the accession of the Government of Peru to all the provisions of this act (chapters I, II, III, and IV).

The accession was given subject to reservation (b) provided for in the second paragraph of article 39 of the act, according to which are excluded:

(b) Disputes concerning questions which by international law are solely within the domestic jurisdiction of states.

The accession was effective as from November 21, 1931.

Brazil

GENERAL TREATY OF INTER-AMERICAN ARBITRATION 2

On January 25, 1932, the Brazilian Ambassador at Washington deposited with the Department of State the instrument of ratification of Brazil of the general treaty of inter-American arbitration, signed at Washington at the International Conference of American States on Conciliation and Arbitration, January 5, 1929.

The parties to the convention are Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico.

On January 19, 1932, the Senate gave its advice and consent to the ratification by the President, subject to the following reserva
