THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS WASHINGTON, D.C. 20540 LIBRARY ENVIRONMENT RESOURCES OFFICE February 4, 1983 Dear Bill: Attached is our occupancy and move plan for the renovation/ restoration project. It assumes that both buildings will be done in two phases in each building. I envision that the first phase of work in the Jefferson building include the south and east portions of the building including the northeast and southeast pavilions, and the Octagon area that includes the Main Reading Room. The second phase of the project would then include the north and west portions of the building, including the northwest and southwest pavilions. It is desirable that the first phase of work in the Adams Building commence in the south half of the building. The plan assumes the use of Decks 37, 38, A, and B in the Jefferson Building will be used as interim occupancy space and that it will be renovated at the end of phase two. The plan will work if you do both buildings simultaneously or if you do the buildings separately. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely yours, Jim James R.
