The duties of the Superintendent include the disbursement of all appropriations for the Library and for the building and grounds and all appropriations under the control of the Joint Committee on the Library. ELECTRIC POWER STATION Last year he was also directed by Congress to investigate and report, under an appropriation of $5,000, on the economy of a contemplated power station for supplying heat, light, and power to the Executive buildings on and about the Mall and in the neighborhood of the White House.
