In accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, the members-elect of the House of Representatives of the Thirtyseventh Legislature assembled this day! in the Hall of the House of Representatives in the City of Austin; and at 12 o'clock Meridian, Hon. C. D. Mims, Secretary of State, called the Honorable House to order. Rev. W. A. Hamlett of Austin, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, by invitation of the Honorable Secretary of State, invoked the blessings of Almighty God upon the assembling of the Thirty-seventh Legislature. TEMPORARY ORGANIZATION. For the purpose of temporary organization the Honorable Secretary appointed the following temporary officers: Chief Clerk, Noel K. Brown. ROLL OF COUNTIES CALLED. The Honorable Secretary then directed the temporary Clerk to call the roll of counties of the State in alphabetical order.
