Chairman

Subcommittee on Legislative Branch Appropriations

Committee on Appropriations
U. S. House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Mr. Chairman:

I am writing to request your approval to reprogram funding for two projects, the new House page dormitory and the broad walkway crossovers for the inaugural ceremony. L. 105-275) for the replacement of the roof on the Longworth House Office Building. The roof replacement project is approximately 32% complete, proceeding will and sufficient savings are projected to fund the proposed reprogramming.

The second item that I am requesting reprogramming for is the construction of the broad walkway crossovers for the inaugural ceremony. These crossovers provide access to the West Front lawn areas over the Olmsted walls from both the Maryland Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue walkways as well as from First Street. A reprogramming of $111,000 from annual funds provided in the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2000 (P. L. 10657) is requested for this project. Savings have been identified in personal services and other
