PART IV. HISTORICAL TABLES Part IV is comprised of historical tables showing the major features of the U.S. tax system. Table 1 provides a detailed breakdown of receipts by source since 1980. Tables 2 through 4 provide a summarized breakdown of receipts, by source, since 1934; showing major categories of receipts in dollars, as a percentage of total receipts, and as a percentage of GNP. Tables 5 and 6 show receipts, outlays and the deficit (the difference between receipts and outlays) in dollar terms, and a percentage of GNP since 1934. Table 7 shows receipts, outlays and the deficit in constant 1982 dollars since 1934. |
